How Smart Forms work

From one prompt to a signed PDF on the matter.

Six steps, all inside LawyerPara: create the document, arrange it in the builder, share it securely, let the client fill and sign it, get notified, then approve it or ask for changes.

Step 1

Create a form, with or without AI

Choose Draft with AI and describe the document, or Start blank and build it yourself. Presets such as Client Intake, NDA and Fee Arrangement fill in the name with one click.

  • AI writes the wording and the fields the client fills in
  • Start blank when you want full control
  • Right-to-left documents supported
Step 2

Drag and drop in the builder

The builder shows the real document. Drag a field from the palette to where it belongs in the text, click any sentence to edit it, and mark fields as required.

  • Nine field types, including date, dropdown, file upload and signature
  • Fields sit inside the wording, so clients read a document, not a questionnaire
  • Undo, and a client preview before you share
Step 3

Share it securely, your way

Every form has its own secure link. Choose how it reaches the client and who can open it.

  • Copy the secure link: a random 32-character code that cannot be guessed
  • Email it from LawyerPara with your own message
  • Send it from a matter: several forms in one email, each response filed on that matter
  • Require an access PIN before the form opens
  • Set an expiry date, after which the link shows a closed page
  • Keep the form in draft to switch the link off
Step 4

The client fills it in and signs

The client sees the questions beside a live copy of the document that fills in as they type. They sign on screen and submit.

  • Works on phones and desktops
  • Required answers are checked before submitting
  • Their answers become the finished document
Step 5

Both sides get notified

The moment a response arrives, the client and the firm each get a record of it.

The client

A receipt email with their own copy of the completed document attached as a PDF.

The firm

An in-app notification for staff, an email with the PDF to firm admins, partners and office managers, and a New count on the Submissions tab.

Step 6

Approve it, or ask for changes

Open the response as a document or as a list of answers. Accept it and file it on a matter, or ask the client to correct specific answers.

  • Tick the answers that need changing and add a note
  • The client gets an email with a link that reopens their form, flagged answers highlighted and everything else kept
  • Each earlier version is kept in the history
  • Download the signed PDF at any time
