#Step-by-step
- Enter SMTP fields.
- Click Save.
- Click Test SMTP.
- Open Email Templates → Test send for a sample.
- Create a test matter to your own inbox.
#Scheduled reminders (cron)
Most emails send instantly. The three reminders (appointment, payment, subscription renewal) are sent by scheduled jobs that only run if your server's task scheduler is active. The Email (SMTP) tab shows a ready-to-copy cron line with your server's path filled in. Add it once to your server's crontab (or your host's "Cron Jobs" panel). See Email Notifications for details.

#Best Practices
- Use a dedicated transactional mail provider.
- Align SPF/DKIM for your from-domain.
- Keep
APP_DEBUG off so errors are logged, not exposed.
