SEO & Search Visibility
#Overview
LawyerPara builds the search-engine and link-preview data for every public page from information you already keep in
the app: firm details, website pages, practice areas and languages. There is nothing to install or switch on. This page
explains what is generated, where it comes from, and the few fields worth filling in.
It covers two kinds of public site:
- Firm websites at
/firm/{slug}, a firm subdomain or the firm's own domain.
- The platform site: the homepage, the Smart Forms page, platform pages (
/page/{slug}) and this documentation.
#What every public page gets
- A title, a description (trimmed at a word boundary to fit search results) and a canonical link.
- Link-preview tags for LinkedIn, Facebook, X, WhatsApp and Slack, including a preview image.
- Structured data (JSON-LD) that tells search engines what the page is about.
- Exactly one main heading (
<h1>).
- A
noindex tag on pages that should not appear in search: booking and payment steps, the client portal, review
and matter-management pages, admin screens and sign-in pages. Shared Smart Form links also stay out of search, but
still show a preview when you paste them into email or chat.
#Firm websites
#Titles and descriptions
Each website page uses the SEO fields in the page editor's SEO & AI discovery panel (Website Builder → Edit
Page). Fill in an SEO title and description for each language, or use Write SEO with AI to draft them.
When a field is empty, LawyerPara falls back to the page's own opening text, then to a sentence built from the firm name
and city, for example "Sterling & Whitfield LLP is a law firm in New York, United States. Book a consultation
online."
#Preview images
The preview image is the first one found in this order: the page's own hero or gallery photo, the firm's cover image,
the home page hero photo, a practice-area photo, and finally the firm logo. Adding a hero photo to the home page is
the simplest way to give every page a good preview.
#Structured data
- The firm is described as a legal service with its address, phone, email, office hours, the city and country it
serves, its practice areas and its average published review rating.
- Practice-area pages are described as services offered by the firm, with the consultation fee.
- FAQ blocks are published as questions and answers, which search engines can show directly in results.
- Every page includes breadcrumb data.
#Languages
Enable languages under Languages & Currency. Each enabled language then gets its own address that search engines
can index:
| Language |
Address |
| Default language |
https://your-domain/about |
| Other languages |
https://your-domain/about?hl=fr |
Every page lists all of its language versions, so search engines show visitors the right one. Opening a ?hl=
address shows that language without changing the visitor's saved language choice.
Translate each page's content and its SEO fields for every language you enable. A page whose French SEO title is
empty falls back to the default-language title.
#Sitemaps, robots.txt and llms.txt
Each firm has three discovery files:
| File |
Address |
Purpose |
| Sitemap |
/firm/{slug}/sitemap.xml |
Every published page and practice area, in every language, with photos |
| llms.txt |
/firm/{slug}/llms.txt |
A plain-text summary for AI assistants: contact details, practice areas and fees |
| robots.txt |
/robots.txt |
Which pages search engines may visit |
A firm on a subdomain or its own domain serves all three at its own root (https://their-domain/sitemap.xml),
with links on that domain.
- Homepage and Smart Forms page: the title, description and preview image come from Super Admin → Landing
Page (the SEO section) and Settings → General (Branding). The homepage also describes LawyerPara as software,
priced from your active plans.
- Languages: each language enabled under Landing Page → Languages gets its own
?hl= address, as on firm
sites.
- Platform pages (
/page/{slug}) use each page's meta title and description, per language.
- Documentation sends its real title, description and text with the page, so search engines and AI assistants
can read it without running JavaScript.
The platform sitemap at /sitemap.xml is an index. It points to a list of the platform's own pages (homepage, Smart
Forms, platform pages and every documentation page, in every language) and to each firm's sitemap.
#Getting found
- Add your domain in Google Search Console and
Bing Webmaster Tools.
- Submit
https://your-domain/sitemap.xml in both. It already includes every firm site on the platform domain.
- Firms on their own domain should add that domain and submit
https://their-domain/sitemap.xml too.
- Search engines usually pick up new pages within days. Check coverage in Search Console after a week.
#Best Practices
- Give every website page an SEO title under 60 characters and a description under 160 characters.
- Add a hero photo to the home page and each practice area, so shared links show an image.
- Add an FAQ block to the FAQs page; the questions can appear directly in search results.
- Only enable a language once its pages are translated, so search engines don't index half-translated pages.
